Concept: Wunjo is the rune of joy. Its reconstructed Proto-Germanic name, wunjō, conveys joy, pleasure and delight. In the Old English Rune Poem, this condition is associated with freedom from suffering and with wellbeing, prosperity and security. The rune therefore expresses a fulfilled form of joy, connected with harmony and the possibility of feeling safe.

In the ART OF THE SPIRIT, this joy is reinterpreted as a state of inner coherence. It is neither passing euphoria nor satisfaction determined by external circumstances, but emerges when the physical, emotional, mental and superconscious dimensions enter into resonance.

Joy is not the denial of pain, but the sign of a restored connection: the soul recognises that it belongs to SPIRIT and ceases to perceive itself as separate. Wunjo thus marks a return to the inner home, where joy no longer needs to be pursued, but emerges as the natural radiance of a realigned being.
