I AM (an artist of the) SPIRIT

“Phases. One stage after another until I reach realization-Action: my real, authentic action, independent of having to appear or demonstrate and any other centralizing “-ism” or philosophy. Simply being, without filters or frills. Being, even artist.”

The ART OF THE SPIRIT is both the goal I have reached and the path I continue to pursue. It is not necessarily immaterial or conceptual art, but a creative act arising from the integral alignment of my being: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. This alignment, refined over the years, has generated a stable connection with expanded states of consciousness.

From this emerge rectitude, well-being, integrity, and effortless concentration, akin to the openness of intuitive grace. It is no longer a sporadic occurrence but a constant method of work. My research translates into a téchne that traverses different languages—poetry, painting, light art, digital media, video art, and performance—none subordinate to the other. Each work manifests in the medium most suited to convey its message.

The journey began with Acentrism, presented in 2007 (Bellati Editore): a movement that does not deny the centre, but deconditions existence and creativity from centripetal “isms”—systems, dogmas, schemes—that generate automatisms and suffocate renewal. This freedom from the egoic circumference promotes a spiral movement, open to non-repetitive becoming. In concrete terms, Acentrism was expressed through radical gestures: scraping canvases back to their virginal state, burning drawings and thoughts to experience the fragrance of the void.

Through these practices, I opened spaces of revelation, interstices that allow transcendence beyond the boundaries of the known. I explored vertical alleys and crossed *circo-stanze*—literally “circus-rooms,” a play on “circumstances,” evoking repetitive patterns of life as in a circus performance—works of the first acentric phase, employing the technique of grattage—until I grasped the light, within and outside of me.

That light became an increasing presence, an atmosphere I learned to recognise even in the most challenging moments: illness, loss, adversity; in art, in parallel, the second phase of Acentrism began: Light Art.

Since adolescence, I have been fascinated by the immaterial and the metaphysical. I developed digital art—the third phase of Acentrism—after my in-depth studies on Yves Klein. These studies led me to follow in his footsteps within the Rosicrucian Order: He was in Oceanside, California, and I was in Italy with the Rosicrucian Study Group.
From this arose my ebook Out of the Blue: Yves Klein’s Immaterial Meets Acentrism, a tribute to the French master and his Chelsea Hotel Manifesto (1961). Subsequently, I conducted six research projects with related works and opera(c)tions, making public my practices for accessing the intuitions that led me to the ART OF THE SPIRIT. I write SPIRIT to signify the Breath of Life and the universal consciousness that transcends every phenomenal duality.

Through my Eastern and Western Masters—Steiner, Blavatsky, Heindel, Palamidessi, Patanjali, Ramana Maharshi, Gurdjieff, Mère, and Aurobindo, Krishnamurti—I elaborated a hybrid practice nourished by meditative writing, a gateway to expanded states of consciousness and clarity. Quieting the personality, rendering it permeable to the subtle, is the first step toward establishing a transcendent communion.

The artistic act is born from this essential and non-dual relation: it leads to an integrated state, a fertile and joyful coexistence in the awareness of the All-One.

The exploration of Klein’s immaterial through digital media extended to the body itself as a living medium and direct vehicle of spiritual and artistic experience – performance – supported by my training with the Seven Tibetan Rites since 1997, including sexual transmutation (the Sixth Rite), the intonation of OM, and meditation. This discipline strengthened my endocrine system, fostering “solar” or superconscious states of creativity.

This daily practice opened the space for interactive performance with the audience.

A further branch of my research concerns experiments on the electromagnetic field: with the assistance of biometric expert Daniele Gullà, I intend to monitor, through sophisticated cameras, the effect of the artwork on the viewer.

I believe a creation’s ethical value has to stand alongside its aesthetic and economic value. I am convinced that everything the gaze rests upon enters osmotically into us; for this reason, I can no longer accept sharing unedifying images or imaginations.

THE ART OF THE SPIRIT is this as well.

THE SPIRIT is the Breath of Life, the pure consciousness of being, beyond apparent and phenomenal duality.
