Acqua*Viva Imprinting

AcquaViva Imprinting is a series in which water is approached as a material and symbolic vehicle of information. InForming here indicates the act of giving form from within: imprinting a specific visual and conceptual configuration into matter through liquid. As an element essential to life, water is traversed by numerical and runic codes, sounds, vocalisations and intentions, acquiring further layers of meaning. Each work translates the symbolic qualities introduced into the creative process into forms, signs and resonances. The research also developed through an engagement with Masaru Emoto’s experiments and hypotheses on the “memory of water” and, subsequently, with the writings of Massimo Citro Della Riva, particularly La scienza dell’invisibile, references that have nourished and expanded my field of artistic experimentation. Testing the capacity of matter to retain an imprint is one of the aims of the research. Conveying intention and reinforcing it through symbols, codes and sounds opens onto a broader field of inquiry: the osmosis between artwork, viewer and environment. AcquaViva Imprinting thus remains an open investigation into the possibility that matter, water, sign and intention may enter into relation and generate a field of resonance.
