The conVocation is addressed to artists, authors and researchers interested in the spiritual dimension of art and in the possibility of generating actions — including immaterial ones — oriented towards a more conscious, sensitive and responsible world.
imagoRevolution invites participants to submit one or more GIFs capable of transforming images charged with collective pathos into regenerative visions. Each contribution becomes part of a shared artistic archive, conceived to grow over time through online publications, digital actions, possible exhibitions and future opportunities for dialogue.
To participate in the project, please complete the form and attach your GIF.
imagoRevolution is a creative operAzione conceived by Mya Lurgo to form an artistic collective interested in transforming the contemporary imagination through animated images, GIFs and digital actions.
The project arises as a response to the daily flow of news, footage and representations charged with media violence, fear, helplessness and resignation. Instead of feeding the circuit of pain or sterile reaction, imagoRevolution proposes an act of visual responsibility: to move through the image, rework it and orient it towards a regenerative possibility.
Each GIF becomes a small metamorphosis of the imago: the passage from an image that generates depressive or sinking feelings to an image capable of reactivating energy, beauty and vitality. In this sense, the project acts as a silent uprising: a poetic, visionary and shareable gesture, capable of transforming the way images inhabit collective consciousness.
“Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is transformed.””
We live in the era of the visual egregore: a collective psychic field fed by every scroll, share and fragment of media violence. Images never remain neutral: they imprint themselves on the gaze, influence emotion and contribute to shaping the shared imagination.
imagoRevolution intervenes in this field through a digital ritual of transformation. Images saturated with pathos are selected, de-centred and recoded through colours, geometries, filters and glitch reworkings, until a new visual breath is opened.
The rawness of the original image is not denied, erased or tamed. It is crossed. Transformation does not alter the event, but works on the imprint it leaves in the observer: on the sense of helplessness, on emotional contraction, on the difficulty of finding answers in the face of horror or tragedy.
Each GIF acts as a micro-ritual, a psychic seal and a digital antibody. Frame by frame, the visual code of the age is rewritten into a more generative emotional vocabulary, where collateral beauty does not deny the wound, but directs it towards a possibility of care, consciousness and change.
1 GIF – Graphics Interchange Format – sono una sequenza di immagini riprodotte in loop.
Each artist’s work consists of one or more animated GIFs. To participate, the form must be completed for each submitted GIF, attaching the file together with its title, year and a short description or representative quote.
Each artist is responsible for the content submitted and for any use of images, photographs or source materials subject to copyright. Participants are therefore invited to carefully verify the rights of the images used before submission.
The selected GIFs will be shared on imagoRevolution’s social channels — Facebook, Instagram and TikTok — as part of the project’s artistic archive. After publication, artists are invited to contribute to the dissemination of the work through their own contacts, newsletters and social channels.
