The Italian expression Vi(t)a brings together vita — Life — and via — Way. Our choices open paths whose meaning may become indecipherable over time; yet even what we no longer understand contributes to soul-making, experience and consciousness.

After a downpour, the rainbow appears as an arc, but it is a complete circle, partly concealed from view. In the same way, we perceive only a fragment of our history and may mistake the limits of our vision for an absence of meaning.

In the ART OF THE SPIRIT, the turning point occurs when even detours and mistakes are integrated and transformed into consciousness. The rainbow does not erase the downpour: it reveals the light that was passing through it.
