With CosmoMania, I explore the becoming of matter within the space of its possible variations: what exists before a form stabilises and comes to be recognised as definitive. The works begin as small hand-painted glass discs; light then passes through them, projecting the image onto a wall or ceiling. A magnifying lens carries the image from micro to macro, making visible configurations that would otherwise remain almost imperceptible.
The series includes fixed and mobile Painted Light Slides. In the mobile slides, an oily component in constant motion, combined with the rotation of the glass and the heat of the projector, continuously transforms the image: the projection never appears twice in exactly the same way. CosmoMania thus becomes a reflection on impermanence, transformation and the possibility of glimpsing, behind the apparent stability of form, a field of possibilities still in the process of becoming. Matter is not represented: it happens.
