The Runes series arises from a cathartic process aimed at coming into contact with the beneficial and life-giving force of the symbol. It is an intuitive practice that activates a non-linear mode of perception, in which the mind attunes to the feeling of the heart. The word rune derives from the Old Norse rún, meaning “secret”, “mystery” or “confidential counsel”.
Originally used as alphabetic characters by Germanic peoples and deeply rooted in Norse culture, runes acquired symbolic, ritual and divinatory meanings across different periods and contexts. In the Runes series, each sign is reinterpreted as an active form: it does not merely represent a meaning, but transforms it into a visual experience.
