Drawing is a meditative practice: tools, environment, light, body, and breath are prepared so tension does not spill into the stroke. Drawing does not always have a purpose; what is certainly present is a Flow, a kind of current that may lead into fields of euphoria or into still waters, from which the freedom of expression springs forth: an overflowing joy and playfulness in creActivating — creating by activating — forms, lines and colours. Nothing more. At other times, a more intimate dialogue takes shape: this is when the Series emerge — drawings connected to one another, like a family.
The drawings tell an ancient story, yet one that remains ever-present, intended to awaken intuitions within each of us. Some works are already visible, while others are works in progress: after all, one must allow time. These are powerful symbols and need to be taken in gradually.
