With Tantric Pollutions, I explore what can arise from the erotic encounter when energy is not exhausted through release. Tantric Pollution is the surplus generated by a fusion without exhaustion: an excess of energy, perception and consciousness that is not dispersed, but traversed, directed and transformed. In physiological terms, pollution is a spontaneous and involuntary phenomenon. The title of the series retains its essential core: something happens of its own accord. In Tantric Pollution, however, the act is conscious and intentional, while what emerges from it remains unexpected and cannot be commanded. Intention does not impose an outcome, but creates the conditions for receiving it. The relationship thus becomes a devotional act, in which the physical and ultraphysical vehicles attune in unison. Passionate energy is neither denied nor repressed, but sustained long enough to change its quality. The seed, in both its biological and symbolic meanings, becomes retained and sublimated generative potential: what might otherwise be dispersed is transformed into presence, devotion and inner vision. From this condition, vision, fulfilment and release beyond the circumference of the body may emerge: not the negation of the body, but the temporary overcoming of its perception as the ultimate boundary of experience.
Orgasm is no longer understood as a “little death” or a suspension of consciousness, but as a possibility of wholeness within an expanded state of consciousness. The series thus explores the possibility that union may become a cre-active act: not the meeting of two halves seeking completion, but the encounter between two wholenesses from which a surplus may emerge, something that did not previously exist.
