SAMSARA

In Indian traditions, Samsara denotes the cycle of birth, death and rebirth and, more broadly, conditioned existence in its ceaseless becoming. Reincarnation and metempsychosis belong to different vocabularies and contexts; the series does not illustrate a specific doctrine, but approaches these concepts as a threshold through which to investigate the continuity of consciousness beyond the boundaries of a single existence.

Self-remembrance across different lives — understood as continuity of consciousness — manifests through contact with the superconscious. It does not take the form of a linear, detailed memory, but of a condensed, emotional tableau of lived experience as a whole. Within this overall vision, what must not be repeated becomes clear, along with the vices that constrained existence and the talents that sought expression.

What remains, therefore, is not a chronicle of events, but an imprint of consciousness: the quality developed through actions, errors, insights and unrealised possibilities. This imprint coincides with our soul-making.

Soul-making is not a process deferred until the afterlife: it takes place here, within the world of duality, while choice remains possible. Here, we choose whether to repeat or transform, whether to indulge vice or give form to talent and, above all, whether to harm ourselves and others or refrain from doing so.

Samsara is therefore not only the cycle of rebirth, but also the ethical field of existence: the place where every experience leaves an imprint and every choice contributes to moulding the soul.
