Concept: We’re so caught up in the life of the senses that we can’t even fantasise about the heavenly inebriation.

My work, Insanely Holding Back the Inevitable Pleasure… B.L.U.E. is a digital elaboration from a photograph taken inside a tourist submarine in Mauritius. The windows let me contemplate the submerged life while remaining within my metallic shell: separate from the water, illusorily independent, circumscribed, and unknowingly oceanic.

That hand clinging to something, without the power to hold back or save, is the last bastion of an isolating attitude. Yet, an atavistic nostalgia calls back to Nature, invokes courage and a vivid presence, so that the distant, unexpected, and unknown may reveal the osmosis between matter and spirit, wave and ocean, sky and human.
