Genesis of the work

STARLIGHT was born in two phases: the first part – painting and digital art – by the artist’s hand; the second is the ethical and aesthetic result of the Performance B.L.U – Be Like U, held on April 29, 2023, at Nellimya Arthouse, Switzerland.

During the performance, six participants – one for each hexagon vertex – were invited to symbolically express their talent through a marble and a touch of colour. With the artist’s narration, the documentary video recounts every step of this collective creation.

The artwork

STARLIGHT is a lightart piece: LEDs, pictorial and digital inserts on plexiglass. Together with the B.L.U performance and the B.L.U – Be Like U video, it forms a trilogy of the ARTE DELLO SPIRITO (ART OF THE SPIRIT) series.

Sacred geometry

Two symbols traverse the work: the circle with a point at its centre – unity, the number 1, the unexpressed form of the whole – and the Seal of Solomon or Star of David – integration and balance of opposites, protection.

Intent

To shine light on one’s unexpressed potential.
To create synergies that reveal talents.
To feel protected in the creative gesture.
