1st CLASS ARTERY is the world’s most miniature travelling art gallery, the brainchild of artist Mya Lurgo and developed on behalf of NELLIMYA ARTHOUSE. The container is a travel trunk from the early 1900s that belonged to a submarine captain residing in Liguria, Italy. Recent restoration has made it ideal for site-specific travelling exhibition projects “trunk-sized”: open 105×31×105.5 cm and closed 62×52.5×105.5.
Naturalia, Mirabilia, and Artificialia, or rarities, preciousnesses, and oddities of nature or artefacts made by man made up the rich collections of scholars, scientists, and princes who, starting in the 1500s, in Italy. The Germanic area began to collect pieces of various origins and provenance to be placed in veritable rooms of wonders. The Wunderkammer were encyclopedic collections that brought together science, nature, and art.

#WUNDERKAMMER is the title chosen for all the exhibitions set up and hosted, stage after stage, in prestigious hotels worldwide, art fairs and high-visibility urban venues. Each exhibition lasts 45 days before resuming its journey with renewed artists and works. No fixed location is planned because movement is life.
Selected artists Fabrizio Bonvicini, Gabriela Butti, Federica Gonnelli, Luca Serasini and Elena Vijoli have been invited to create ready-made works designed for the wanderer and inspired by the wandering spirit: that fervour that spurs toward unexplored inner and outer destinations and leads to a sense of the impermanence and transience of existence. The digital exhibition catalogue, which can be viewed and downloaded on one’s smartphone from the NELLIMYA ARTHOUSE website, also has a paper version: a single copy, left on the trunk and designed to be a guest + log book.

At the end of the exhibition, this tool will also travel according to the bookcrossing formula. Finally, an e-commerce service that can be consulted exclusively from the touch screen integrated with the trunk allows the exhibited works to be purchased confidentially- without necessary registration via credit card or PayPal. The sale and prompt delivery of the work to the customer is done with a regular certificate of authenticity.
