I AM (an artist of the) SPIRIT

Artist statements and exhibitions

“Phases. One stage after another until I reach realization-Action: my real, authentic action, independent of having to appear or demonstrate and any other centralizing “-ism” or philosophy. Simply being, without filters or frills. Being, even artist.”

The ART OF THE SPIRIT is the goal I have achieved and still feel I am pursuing.

It is not necessarily immaterial or conceptual art; instead, creativity is aligned with my entire being: physical-etheric, emotional or astral, mental, causal (soul), and spiritual.

Over the years, the integral alignment of my earthly and celestial vehicles has allowed me to make a voluntary, direct, and coherent connection with the superconscious.

From this cohesion flows righteousness, well-being, integrity, and even focus, which becomes as easy as opening oneself up to intuitive grace; no longer a sporadic state, but a modus operandi, stemming from knowing how to prepare oneself at every existential level, bypassing the filter of the personality.

With time, poetry, and practice, the initial research has become a téchne, including different means of expression: painting, light art, digital art, video art, and performance.

Before approaching the artistic expression of SPIRIT, I went through four personal and creative phases over several years, which I described in my diary and manifesto without circumferences—a-centrism: from the dream of the ego to Divine Reality—published by Bellati Editore in 2007.

A-centrism was never the absence of a central core but rather the progressive reset from pre-constituted circumferences: false selves, misleading inForms, repetitive patterns, conditioning, and limiting beliefs.

To return to the truth in me, I shaved the paintings—grattage—back to the virgin canvas and burnt drawings and thoughts until I perceived the fragrance and noise of emptiness.

I chased vertical alleys and crossed circles before catching a glimpse of the light, which I recount in my Light Artworks.

Light has become a progressive presence and an all-pervasive atmosphere that I have learnt to recognise and glimpse between the folds/creases of matter. The Immaterial became perceptible over time, and thanks to the analysis of Yves Klein’s Chelsea Hotel Manifesto (1961), I attended the Rosicrucian Studies Group for several years, as Klein himself was a student at the Oceanside Centre in California.
In the eBook Out of the Blue: Yves Klein’s Immateriality meets acentrism, available on my website at the moment only in Italian, I retrace the Rosicrucian interpretation of his Manifesto, also partly narrated by the critic Thomas McEvilley in the book Yves the Provocateur.
In the following years, the eBook grew, becoming a public document of my artistic-spiritual research, from acentrism to the Immaterial inspired by Yves Klein to the ART OF THE SPIRIT. Yes, it is written in all caps because some mindsets still get inhibited by the word Spirit alone, even though theological references, philosophies and esotericisms are irrelevant.

THE SPIRIT in us is super partes substance, beyond duality, universal, but also extra-ordinary, outside the usual (short)circuit of personality: mask or interface, whatever.

Making ART OF THE SPIRIT means creating at every level of one’s existence, quieting the voices of the personality, making it receptive and osmotic towards that which is of a subtler order, and establishing communion and communication with the SPIRIT.

This reconnection consolidates until it becomes an essential, irreplaceable relationship and guide. In conclusion, one lives as an integrated whole.

THE ART OF SPIRIT is an expression of this state of consciousness.
